Dear Martin,
I spoke today with Gabriella at the Mane Event here in Chilliwack and she told me of your Father's passing. Ever since I meet him years ago at a craft show, he has been a true friend and inspiration. My wife and I will miss him and his jokes, always a joy to be around. She is at a show in Medicine Hat, AB. right now and will let all of his friends there know of his passing. On behalf of myself, my wife and all his friends at the craft shows, please let the family know he will truly be missed.
With deep sadness,

Dear Martin and the Sladek Family,
It was with a feeling of profound sadness that I read of the passing of your father Vaclav. I knew that he had been battling illness quite some time and I can only pray that his last moments were painless and peaceful. Vaclav was a man of tremendous talent in the art of marionette making. It was always a pleasure working with him. It was such a genuine delight opening up a package from him to see his wonderful creations. They were always so colorful and detailed. Yet these marionettes which he so carefully crafted will give many years of joy to children and adults for a long time to come. His passing is a great loss. My prayers and condolences go out to you and your family. I will remember Vaclav in my prayers. May his memory be eternal!
Yours in Christ,

Martin,
I was so sorry to hear about Vaclav's passing. I began working for the
SCC in 1996 and from the beginning Vaclav was one of the members who
always had encouraging suggestions for me as I learned the ropes at our
craft markets. His wonderful laugh was a special addition to every show
we worked together and his ability to draw visitors in or chase them
down the aisle made him unique. His puppets were so full of life and
when in has hands they really did bring joy to everyone. Please pass on
my condolences to Louise and the rest of the family.
